This house in the Yorkshire Dales has stunning views and a southerly aspect from the garden within the house you are almost completely unaware of this. The house also has very low ceilings, which further reinforces the sense of enclosure. By exploiting the changes in levels, the extension seeks to create a double height lounge/music room that allows the owners to appreciate the changing weather and landscape from within the house. The extension also has an extra bathroom and clarifies the entrance arrangements for the house, by making it very clear where the front door is and allowing guests to enter the house without first passing through a utility room.
