Holmes Mill was an old textile mill on the edge of the town centre when James' Places approached Stanton Andrews with a vision of what it could be and asked us to make this a reality. The development has been both innvotive and respectful of the historic facbric of the building and its setting.  Rather than scrapping the old machinery, it has been itegrated and displayed as a core part of the experience. The rare cross-compound hoitzontal engine sits amid visitors and creates a great talking point and reminder of times gone by. Stanton Andrews Architects have been working on this exciting project with Emporia Leisure - the owners of Bowland Brewery and James’ Places. The enterprise has garnered such interest that it has even been reviewed by national newspaper, The Guardian.  Read it here.
