The existing house is a substantial grade 2 listed property with extensive grounds on the edge of Blackburn. The house has renovated and extended within the last ten years. The proposed extension provides additional leisure facilities complementing the existing house, including a pool, steam room/sauna and fitness area. The proposed wing is dug into the existing hillside, reducing its apparent size and possible impact on the neighbouring house. The composition and materials are unashamedly ‘modern’ with stone faced fin walls, frameless glass and a grass covered roof.
